![]() ![]() Gangstas outside mess with the cars and the shoppers. Bass store is nothing unless you like that junk. Dont be fooled by how large or nice the mall looks from the outside, that is mostly the theater and the bass pro shop that are large and make the mall look much larger and more interesting than it ever could be once you get inside. Very limited selection of stores, very small mall to even walk around for exercise. Only redeeming quality here is the expansion of some of BassProShops decorating out into the area of the mall directly outside the mall entrances to the outdoorsmans center.įrom the road this mall seems much larger than it really is. Since then, the ability to rent out storefronts has become harder (sometimes impossible), and the appearance of patchwork remodeling leaves you wondering what these monuments to consumerism will be like in another 10-20 years. ![]() Again, like most of the countrys shopping malls, Harrisburg mall smacks of the 1980s-1990s era in which they experienced their heyday. This mall, like so many in suburban America, shows its age. Not sure what the future holds, but kudos on the effort as other area malls are just dying. Ive said it before and Ill say it again, its obvious to me that someone in that malls ownership or marketing is trying very very hard, and they are doing a good job. Our little man loves it and we use it almost everytime we come to the mall. We LOVE the kids indoor playground by the fountains. They are also the first place in our area to have a Checkers Burgers, which honestly, I wasnt Floored by, but at the same time, I think its very cool that they are bringing in outside chains to try and lively the place up! such a big mall, they have so much space to do even more with it if its truly on the way back up. The old Anchor on the backside of the mall, that they now use for conventions, meeting space, plays, festivals. Great Escape Movie Theatre- which is a MASSIVE multi theater cineplex right in the mall. Kondu, which is a "chipolte style" restaurant that specializes in "sushi burritos" a gaming lounge, which seems like a really cool, safe place for the younger kids. And they have some very unique things about them that other malls do not They recently rezoned the area so this mall could become a lifestyle center or mixed use at some point. This Mall was truly heading down-hill fast, but now its improving everytime we go there! They have some great anchor stores in Macys, Bass Pro Shop, and 2nd and Charles. The Sears is clearing items from other closing stores but looks pretty sickly. The Bon Ton anchor was never replaced and this rare open Sears anchor is in its last days. The vacant CVS by the food court becomes a Spirit Store every year, which is kind of cool.īoscovs is the anchor and the only thing holding this mall together. There are a number of vacant spaces in the mall despite adding a number of small local shops and businesses. Rue 21 recently opened at the Capital City Mall which likely means they will close the location at Colonial Park. The mall recently lost their Aunt Annies and several stores have left for the Capital City Mall across the river. I have always loved the aesthetics and architecture of this mall. I took some quick pictures a couple days ago. The Colonial Park mall isn't 'dead' yet but it is dying and on the decline. ![]()
